Nicolas is a specialist in domestic and cross-border litigation as well as in national and international arbitration, both ad hoc and institutional, as counsel and as arbitrator.
He has extensive experience in commercial, contractual, and construction project disputes. He frequently assists clients in litigation/arbitration in the corporate/M&A, banking and energy sectors. Moreover, he has significant expertise in crisis management and pre-litigation issues (including in the context of project performance).
Widely seen as one of the leading experts in his fields, Nicolas regularly advises clients (such as large multinationals, governments, and banks) on their most strategic and sensitive matters and helps them resolve their business-critical disputes.
Nicolas is a member of CEPANI and one of the members of its Arbitration and Construction Committee. He is also the author of various publications on his areas of expertise and a regular guest- and keynote speaker at seminars and conferences.
From 2004 to 2014, Nicolas lectured, as a Professor assistant, on Law of Contracts, Obligations and Torts at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB).
In 2004, the Brussels Bar awarded Nicolas the Boels prize for best oral pleadings.
