Pierre-Olivier is a founding partner of Savoie Arbitration, a boutique firm specializing in international arbitration and international dispute resolution, which exists since 2016.Mr. Savoie has almost 20 years of experience in the arbitration and litigation of international disputes. Prior to launching a boutique practice, Mr. Savoie worked in the international arbitration groups of White & Case (New York) and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (Paris). He was also counsel with the government of Canada’s Trade Law Bureau where he worked in the investment and services division, advising on investment and trade disputes. Mr. Savoie also clerked at the Supreme Court of Canada and the International Court of Justice. Mr. Savoie is admitted to practice law in Paris, New York and Ontario. He also frequently sits as arbitrator, notably as sole arbitrator and presiding arbitrator in ICC arbitrations and has been appointed by Canada to the NAFTA Chapter 19 panel of arbitrators for trade disputes and has acted as panellist in such disputes.
As counsel, Mr. Savoie handles as lead counsel a broad range of commercial and investment arbitrations, including under the ICC, ICSID, ICSID(AF), OHADA, SCC and UNCITRAL arbitration rules. Mr. Savoie also has significant experience negotiating and advising on investment treaties. Mr. Savoie also litigates enforcement cases before French courts.
