As a lawyer, (accredited) mediator and sounding board, I have worked on a range of award-winning projects in infra, transport, energy, life science, defence and other sectors across the globe for almost 30 years. Well acquainted with the public and private sector's priorities and sensibilities as a trusted advisor to the industry, sponsors, public sector, lenders, IFI, funds, architects and other stakeholders.As a mediator I have a track record of helping parties resolve complex disputes quickly and sustainably, often in a sensitive, mediatised climate.
Non-executive supervisory board mandates have deepened my understanding of business, strategic and risk considerations and the need for effective solutions, beyond mere legal expertise. I am a member of Euro Stability Mechanism’s (ESM) External Procurement Oversight Panel.

Previously a partner at Allen & Overy and head of its global public law practice from 2013 until 2020, I have a strong background in public and contract law, including PPP, public procurement, FDI, principles of good governance, etc.
I work across the globe, lived in Africa, Asia and Europe. I handle files in Dutch, English and French and have a good knowledge of German (C1) and Italian (LUISS University).
