Attorney-at-Law since 1989, currently Senior Counsel with KPMG Law Brussels (previously partner NautaDutilh for 20 years and Deloitte Legal for 10 years), holder of Law degrees in Belgium (J.D. UCL, postgraduate in Tax management Solvay Business School, postgraduate in European law Ghent University) and in the US (LLM, Duke University). Benoît specializes in corporate law and in particular in M&A, private equity, structuring and negotiation of fundraising and financing, financial regulations and capital market law. He has advised numerous start up companies in their fund raising, particularly in the life science sector. He has also assisted several listed companies in various capital market transactions (takeover bids, IPOs, squeeze-outs, fundraising), as well as in market abuse cases, including before the FSMA Disciplinary Committee. He also handles disputes in these areas, before the courts or in arbitration (as an arbitrator or counsel). In addition to recommendations in the international guides Chambers Global, Chambers Europe, IFLR1000 or Legal 500 guides, he was named "2017 Banking & Finance Attorney of the Year – Belgium" by Acquisition International magazine and "2017 Lawyer of the Year - Capital Market" by Lawyer Monthly magazine. He was also recognized by Best Lawyers magazine "Lawyer of the Year 2021-2022" for Capital Markets and "Best Lawyer in Corporate Law and Financial Institutions". Benoît is also the author of numerous publications in capital markets and corporate law, including his book on the Law of Capital Markets in Belgium in 1997. He is a regular lecturer in conferences and teaches every year a course on take-over laws in the Master program at the faculty of law at UCLouvain.
