Professional experience

Emilio regularly assists international clients in contract negotiation and litigation (both arbitration and court litigation) in the sectors of oil & gas construction projects, infrastructures, M&A, cross border distribution, and EU competition law. Emilio has also a broad experience in the area of data protection and software licensing. Emilio is contract professor of international commercial law and dispute resolution at the Brussels Management School and visiting professor at the University of Torino. Listed as Future Leaders in Arbitration since 2020 by Who’s Who Legal. President of the Belgian section of the Club Español del Arbitraje, and member of the ICC-Italia Antitrust commission.
Emilio is among the firsts to join the roster of CEPANI C-Bild experts in construction arbitration and has an extensive experience in this sector. Among the most notable international projects for which clients relied on Emilio's expertise (in contract advising, court litigation or arbitration) there are:
- two propane dehydrogenation plants in Antwerpen (Belgium);
- the South Stream 2 pipeline (Bulgaria);
- a refinery in Saint Nazaire (France);
- a gold and copper refining facility in the Halkidiki peninsula (Greece);
- a oil refinery in Lysekil (Sweden);
- the OPTARA project in Antwerpen (Belgium);
- an offshore extraction facility on the Zohr gas field (Egypt).
