Professional experience
I am a partner in the litigation and dispute management practice group at Eversheds Sutherland LLP.I mainly handle commercial and corporate litigation and arbitration matters, with a focus on a variety of topics such as retail, distribution and franchising, (credit) insurance and (industrial) projects. I also serve clients active in the decarbonisation and mobility sectors. Another aspect of my work is related to litigating the recovery of illegally exported cultural goods.
During my career, I have spent significant time in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, working on several audits of major joint ventures active in the natural resources sector and on the ensuing international arbitration matters.
My career path also took me on a secondment to the legal team of a major energy group, where I was a part of the team in charge of an oil refinery investment/overhaul programme, drafting and negotiating EPC and EPCm agreements, as well as managing disputes in this respect.
My more recent experience includes: involvement in the largest arbitration case ever heard in Belgium; defending a public entity in a major sports infrastructure dispute; acting for the Ministry of Culture of an EU Member State in disputes concerning the recovery of illegally exported medieval archives and manuscripts; representing several luxury fashion companies in litigation related to the distribution of their products on the Belgian market.
