Maxime Berlingin is the Head of the Dispute Resolution Department at Fieldfisher Brussels. He has extensive experience in domestic and international arbitration both as counsel and arbitrator.His practice also covers enforcement proceedings of national and international arbitral awards before Belgian courts as well as setting-aside proceedings. In this context, he has advised international clients seeking or opposing the enforcement of international arbitral awards in Belgium.
Maxime is a member of the Board of the CEPANI (the Belgian Centre for Mediation and Arbitration) and of several task forces of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR.
Maxime teaches ADR - including Arbitration – and Contract Law at UCLouvain - Saint-Louis Brussels.
In 2022, he has been appointed as one of the specialists composing the Task Force set up to draft the law amending the Sixth Part of the Belgian Judicial Code on Arbitration.
Maxime is also the Chairman of the Benelux Arbitration and ADR Group, composed of the main arbitration bodies in the Benelux region. He has been appointed as the first Chairman of this Group and presides over the Group's steering committee, composed of the president and/or the secretary general of each party.
