Professional experience

I am a WWL Recommended expert witness with 15 years of experience providing authoritative evidence on complex economic and financial disputes. I have testified and/or submitted expert reports in arbitration proceedings, in courts and in front of various regulators, in English and in French, on matters such as asset expropriation, valuation, M&A disputes, alleged market manipulation or insider trading and IP disputes, in industries as varied as banking and insurance, commodities, consumer goods, energy, healthcare, oil & gas and transportation.
A PhD-educated economist and lecturer, I work with clients who seek the assistance of an expert witness who thinks in rigorous economic terms. I often deliver thoughtful insights thanks to my academic credentials and my deep experience as a financial practitioner who dealt, among others, with the consequences of Fortis’s break-up. I have a reputation for translating complex economic concepts into simple language, both in lectures and casework. I have also received accolades from clients – and other lawyers – for my skill at showing the other side provided a economic or financial arguments that were unsound or unreliable.
Between 2017 and 2024, I was a vice president at Analysis Group, a leading international economic consulting firm. Since 2011, I have advised clients on litigation matters, mergers & acquisitions, and portfolio management as an independent expert. In addition to my work on Benelux and French cases, I have acted as an expert witness in German, U.S., and Danish matters. Starting in financial litigation, I have also successfully worked on IP and commercial disputes as well as competition lawsuits.
I earned my PhD in Economics and Management from Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management in 2020; my MBA from INSEAD in 2005; and my master’s degree in computer science and engineering from UCLouvain in 1998. I have published research on bank dividend policies in a highly regarded finance journal.
