Steve Griess (Lic. Jur. ULB, 2005, DES in European law 2006, Institut d'Etudes Européennes) has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 2006. He has worked in a number of leading Brussels-based law firms, first as a member and then as head of their litigation/arbitration departments. His practice focuses on commercial and private law litigation, both nationally and internationally. He has extensive experience in commercial distribution (particularly franchise, agency and concession agreements), real estate, contract and liability law, and enforcement law. He has also worked as an assistant lecturer at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) since 2007.Steve Griess has been involved in a number of ad hoc and CEPANI arbitration proceedings. He regularly acts as counsel to parties involved in commercial arbitrations, as sole arbitrator and as a member of several arbitral panels. Alongside this involvement, Steve Griess is very active in the development of alternative dispute resolution methods. He is an accredited civil and commercial mediator, an adviser to the Commercial Ombudsman and a member of the MARCS commission of the Brussels Bar.
